Kiss of a rose (Other) by backstreetdreamer I was slain by a rose
with the sword of the night,
there is no defence
when the arrow's in flight.
With the shield of a rainbow
reflected in me,
my destiny beckoned
my heart to be free.
But the chains of the rose
are a permanent bond,
and her thorns a reminder
of what lies beyond.
I surrendered my heart
and the fire in my soul,
for the love of the rose
Is forever my goal.
For the smile of the rose
I would give of my all,
and the scent of the rose
Is my destiny's call...

A lot of vague attempts at imagery here that are not developed. Some seem there only for rhyme and rhythm. The cadance is good, but I miss finding any strong point to it all.
Why not just call it "The Name of the Rose" *5*
