outside my reach

i look to you up in the stars grant my wish, remove these bars- these harnesses that close me in, away from life, away from him. i'll forget the times the wishes passed me by, my requested dreams that were denied. this one's different - do i say that much? a chance at love, a chance for touch. i swear i'll be better - more human & kind & i'll make another pomise, if at last he is mine. i feel it close, within my grasp give me strength, don't let it pass. but the closer i am, the further i seems toofar to reach, even in a dream. but tonight it's same whether awake or asleep your very presence in my bones did seep. & as i turn to draw you near it's not your quiet breaths i hear... it's the raring train moving down the line & me awake again with my dream divine.
