Truly, I have to agree with you Drnick...to my surprise... I had been away for a bit...life stuff... and when I came back to PR, I was shocked to see how this site was being ran...its good to see folks like Dovina, yourself, and a few others trying to hang on to the respect of fellow writers...then only to find we were being slammed for our efforts...this site is for people to post and recieve honest critiques...somehow I believe it has changed into a show of "Who can rank Who" the lowest...I respect Dovina and others and their help and suggestions...shouldn't this be the way we run this site...to help and encourage , not slam and insult those who want a space to seek advice and honesty??? I love reading poetry etc. however...I find myself skipping authors...mainly because of the content, and because I am baffled as to what I should rank their entry...I appreciate the various styles and topics...and rank accordingly...shouldn't we all? Keep doing what you do best...and perhaps the rest will come back...I miss Alchemy, shushin, ranger,wilco and many more... and their opinions...maybe they saw something we did not want to...this should be a forum for all poets and for those who just want to write...like me...I just want to write...and I know who honestly ranks the poem, not the person...a low rank or score is not going to stop me from writing, I have been writing for 30 plus years...the advice and grammar/punctuation/spelling, is what I seek help with...and to see if I did okay...Dovina has always been supportive and honest...she keeps me grounded...you should love her...lol I think with all the talent you have that the above poem is great in a poetic point of view...but...we can't all like the topic...so I give you a 6 because you are a great poet :) Bethy

I thought it was funny...but you're right-it's too much like them to be funny. What the fuck happened to everyone that used to post on here? Like wilco, shushin, ranger, alchemy...they're the few I remember, but there used to be tons of really good poetry on here. Is there some magic shangri la of internet poetry that they've moved on to? At lest you're still holding it down, Dovina. P.S. I've been meaning to tell you this for some time, but I love you.

Too much explaining and generalizing, where just showing the scene and the man's feelings would work better. With a well-worn topic like this, something unique is needed. I do like the Chorus.

If you want to use street language, ok, but it's a bit off-putting as it comes only late in the poem. I bet this is a good song; like to hear it.

Yes they stunk. They have gone now but can be found on Poetryshared and Allpoetry for those who wish to go and laugh. There the name is combined to "Colin Douglas" but it's the sam old crap.
