quite good, but poems about poems signal a lack of inspiration
Mr Pig on Lord of the Swines by <{Baba^Yaga}> 22 Jul 2003, 10:32 AM
These were your comments on my poem Yellow Star, and I wish to remind you of them because your a hypocrite. thought it was poorly written, and to an average kid into poetry, it's incomprehendible anyway. I hope it goes to #1. Good day.

INTRANSIT on Yellow Star by Mr Pig 22 Jul 2003, 5:43 AM
Nice discussion, gentlemen. Wish I had time to read it all. when I get home. Amazing how much impact one day, minute , hour, moment, second, can have.
Christof on Yellow Star by Mr Pig 22 Jul 2003, 4:49 AM
I have some sympathy with Horus's point. It seems that the struggle in the Middle East at the moment is the result of the Jewish people having single-mindedly failed to learn from their own history of the last 50-60 years. Yes the Holocaust was an absolutely foul, vile, depraved event in history - and let's not imagine that the Germans were alone in their views, there were plenty of proto-Nazis in Britain, France, Italy, Spain (and the US - the KKK) who also had blood on their hands. However, I think the point of history is not to labour one event, one people's history, for the purpose of eliciting merely pity or horror (or, for that matter, Academy Awards). The point is to learn from it, to move on, to try to make the world progress in some way. Both Horus and Mr Pig have talked with some pride of their backgrounds, have distinguished different strains of identity, different ethnic groups. Everybody needs to know where they come from, but an obsessive attention to ethnic detail, to the rights and wrongs of past members of particular groups generations ago, is where all the trouble starts. What does it matter if your great-great-grandfather was a black Scotsman from Wales? It matters because it affects how you live now, how you understand the world; it should not be used as some kind of badge of honour. I think a person deserves special treatment not because of who their parents were, but because of what they do with their lives. Racial division is the biggest problem the human race faces, because it threatens to destroy us. A small historical fact to add to the German/Jew argument - a lot of right-wing aggression towards the Jews was centred around a book called 'The Protocols of the Zionist Elders', which purported to have been produced by rabbis and leading Jews and which spoke of a conspiracy to take over the world. It was a forgery produced by European anti-Semites in the late 19th century. I don't think Hitler's rise to power is quite so easily explicable by the ambitions of the Jews. Anti-Semitism has a far longer and ignobler history than that, and you have to remember that Germany had been shafted in the Treay of Versailles by the very unJewish (and also fairly anti-Semitic in places) British, US and French governments.

You seem to think you know everything and you do not. I am not a jew. (check mate) Are you God? did you create me? how the hell do you know what fucking race I am. Its clearly obvious to me after reading your drivel that if you dont know something you simply invent it to massage your intellectual ego. I am nothing like Hitler you are the one labelling wrongly people and resorting to futile playground name calling. As for my Haiku you have actually said gave me positive remarks so saying they are poor now just shows you to be immature, and a jerk. I guess your Poem 'Nigger hole' is accessible to the audience you feel I am alienating? we all do god, bad, exceptional poems from time to time I am no paragon but I do know when someone is taking something way to far like you are. You could do with thinking about what you say before you let rip horus. Maybe you are a jew because I say you are ! you see its childish to label people isn't it? Finally this bloody poem was written about the plight of the holocaust not an opportunity for you to advertize your conceited opinions of the poor wronger German common men who 'rightfully' avenged the greedy and i bet you think big nosed jews by torturing them to death and persecuting them. The Final Solution Horus, you were not born then, neither was I and their are some things we will never know but the facts remain that Hitler and the Aryan race were scumbags so if you feel so strongly why not shave your hair, iron those blue collars and head for your nearest jewish suburb and chant your pathetic defence of history. I have seen a side of you which truly disappoints and saddens me. All you had too say was 'your poem was bad i never liked it and a basic reason why' Who do you think you are ?

Dark Angel, it's amazing. You commented everything I was thining when I read this, except for one thing: It's not only a "driveling song" in the book, it was a song composed by a MACHINE for the benefit of the unwashed masses. Isn't that so much worse?
StuntHornist on Dear Lord by simone_girard 21 Jul 2003, 8:47 PM
Dear Lord, please hear my prayer tonight, For my husband has had a terrible fright. His dear old mother has taken ill And this is a void I cannot fill. She's suffered now for years and years And there have been so many tears, But none of these were out of joy And my husband's gone from a man to a boy. If she should die this family would be halved And it would be a long time before we laughed. So please, dear Lord, take away her pain, So we can see her smile again, For her place can be filled by no other, For this place in our hearts is for our dear mother. Now, in you, I place my trust and love, In you, dear Lord, in heaven above. There? Are you happy? It's the same poem, only grammatically correct, and it STILL sucks.
StuntHornist on Love by simone_girard 21 Jul 2003, 8:42 PM
This is like a creepy cross between a girl scout song and that kid's prayer, as in, "Love is something if you give it away," and "When I lay me down to sleep." In conclusion, you suck, you die, 1.
