"grow tall and tall..." maybe. It's a Whitman thing. I dunno. I like it as is. I tend to overlook burned leaves if the root is strong.

i like this. i like the cadence and the melancholy and the present that won't escape the past, here. and the gold, the yellow, everywhere, now, bursting.

I don't quite like plasmic. But.
Very well done.
Especially the wrap-up.

This is really pretty bad. Graphic descriptions of intercourse, unless done brilliantly, are invariably unpleasant.

Have you been watching Kill Bill? This is delightfully absurd in the same manner.

You know, Settle is the spitting image of a guy I knew at school, called Richard Hoffman. He too walked around looking stunned with a pathetic little teenage 'tache too!

The motif of this poem is extremely gripping, good, and of course original. What's the village supposed to represent?

I disagree. There is a poem in there. What you need is a well trained Ferret. As you know, I am not said Ferret. Put it back in the english wheel.

Is a good question(s), to be sure.
And raises still more (nothing wrong with that). I think you might be limiting the poem's impact by making that last suggestion, somehow?

Well, I hate to douse all this enthusiasm, but I just don't get it. An envigorating image here and there, yes, but the overall poem, no. Maybe it's seeing God as poet, but "wretched"? Sorry, I usually relate to yours.
