'for her son, for the nude young male who lounges against a rock displaying his dildo ... whose works are but extensions of power to charm? From this weathered outcrop' Auden knew about the rise of the limestone too. This is quite cute, very readable, the end is plain daft though. Like the funny names too

good rhythm I think. Acid does not ache you though, it burns. In fact acid rain is too weak to do much at all, dissolve gravestones slowly perhaps.

Rich, I like this. It has a nice touch but I must admit that I am not clearly capturing the image you paint. I am somewhat lost from "to give reason....." "as if to quell the stillness of the day" is sweet, very nice. Are you saying that the lake exists for more than mere show and if so what might that be?

The real feeling comes through. It comes across as a bit trite, but still heart-felt.

Interesting use of the platitude about if enough monkeys were to type long enough, sooner or later one would write Shakespeare.

A bit too dogmatic for my taste, but I give you points for staying on track with your theme throughout the whole poem.

I'm not sure what's more interesting, the flow, structure, depth, simplicity, or the votes and comments. hehe. Good piece.
