Beautiful. This is what metaphors dream to become when they grow up. •°•Gregory James•°•

Oh dear, another hopelessly bungling "math poeme". We can only pray the meltdown doesn't send the poemeranker server into a Hysteria.

You have posted this several times, each as a new poem. It might be better to post it as a revision of the same poem each time. Then the former comments are still there, but we can tell from the dates that they refer to an older version. It's still a good poem.

I got lost somewhere between the sadist and the masochist, which you assign to the same person.

Over the top wonderment, deeply moving and full of evocative images. An easy favorite... memorable to the last drop. •°•Gregory James•°•

Superlatives that you don't really mean weaken your credibility - "much crueler Than anyone’s Hell" "Infinitely high"

Not a limerick. If a woman can know what your eyes clearly show, then how can she mistake it?

I see where you're going with this poem. I think you could do better if you would rewrite the last two stanzas. You should let go of the uncertainty in the 4th stanza and wrap it up positively in the 5th. So, 'til then a -9- not a -10-.

It's blues. It rhymes. It has meter. It lacks the tension and release of a good lyric. I'm sure if you think about it a bit more, you could make the story move from the fire to the damage it has caused someone.

The ending captured my interest, but I was lucky to make it that far. I think that with an added beginning this might have accomplished just the right amount of balance and captivation. •°•Gregory James•°•
Re: A Better God by Dovina PsydewaysTears 69.240.74.35 19-Dec-04/12:05 AM
I like this. A strong religious statement that's good both on a personal and universal level. Not too over-told or sidetracked, the focus is exactly where it should be. Lines thirteen and fourteen spoke most loudly to me, but it's altogether a worthwhile read. •°•Gregory James•°•
