I'm not entirely sure I understand your point about the "last line of the second verse." When I wrote this poem, I was not making any connection to suicide at all, but take what you will.
why the name sparky?
why would you take it back if it were about suicide?
freaking....this is wrong. either use "fucking" or some other word that stands on its own and is not some chilly euphemism for a real word.
though I don't suppose it really matters, as this is most likely written on a post-it note and destined for the trash anyway.
now this i think is kinda funny and kinda good.
if only you had made the half rhyme of tuna and you a bit more obvious....still a 10
perhaps during the hours of boredom, you might read, or, I don't know, learn how to spell? Or, here is another idea...focus on whatever task you are performing, so as not to completely fuck it up.
what is gimmie?
If only you had rhymed something with 'drano', this would have been an automatic 10
a turtle strokes its way through a puddle of creamed corn. she turns coldly, glaring beneath her shades, smoke gushing from her face. she speaks. we see her missing teeth.
A force beyond my control pushes at the seams in my denim trousers.
I like s4.
death, love, pain, and loss--
these are the thoughts in my mind
while in the office
I think you could make this into a better poem by forgetting that someone told you villanelles are cool.
go clock go. :)
This is pretty good. I hope the last line is not about suicide, because if it is, then I take it back. The first verse is good. The last line of the second verse seems not to follow the theme. "and regret"??? "You can't see me so you forget." - why?
A list of diggables aint all that bad,
of hells and edens, gold and rust,
of brimstone hot and water cold.
And when I've dug my last dark pit
and crawled inside a padded box,
You can carve on stone,
"She tried real hard
to dig out of all the stupid
words she wrote."
actually, not all villanelles are in iambic pentameter. I did however want to write it in pentameter, in order to give it a bit more rhythm.
This poem is so amazing, and very realistic. I lvoe you comment at the bottom how any male who abuses a child or women does not deserve the title of a man. I love it.
Points for trying. Though you might want to look up the meaning of "iambic pentameter." You seem to have forgotten the Iambic part.
I dont know if you understand what a prose poem is, but this poem is not in prose. The insipid religiousness is not at all to my taste, but I wont bother commenting on it. The "heart/apart" rhyme is simply clumsy. It is things like that free-verse proponents point to and laugh at when they have their derisory little diatribes on rhyme. The last line or two are okay I guess. The above/love rhyme is terrible. As far as I know English is cursed with quite a paucity of perfect rhymes for love: above, of, "dove" if you feel like raiding the dovecots of the muse and "shove" or "glove" if the thought can be made to absorb either, and Russian names like "Lermontov" and "Nochnikov." Anyway, it's generally a good idea not to have to rhyme on love.
Okay I'm done.
By the way, i know i cant spell, so please dont try to correct my spelling, correct it for yourself in your head.
