An iron sentiment clearly wrought, if not poetically so.
Hmmm, what to do?
Maybe you could attach some imagery to some of these list items? I think quite a few poems, actually, will fall from these sentiments.

Homophobic crap. Super Furry Animals used the beard / sheared rhyme in 'Something for the Weekend' in 1996
'5 6 7 man I'm in heaven / And I'm growing my beard / Until it gets sheared.' Knocks your effort into the proverbial cocked hat.

you are entirely right. The fireworks are only going off in your head.
Does voting for your own pomes help you maintain the illusion? just curious.

I feel this could be improved by substituting the final line for one ending in 'eyes'.

I would go with DA's suggestion, but add the word "Whale" before 'eyes'. Because, I for one, am tired of seeing when the whales cannot. Oh, and I'd capitalize Bush to add historical oomph.
Now time for a sensless plug CD Baby.com is having a sale on Horus8's two records, yay, (farts for emphasis) yippy, kids go finger bang yourself one today!

To be honest I don't believe in Jesus, and I have 666 on my neck. I give you 9, becuase it's good and it's possible that there's a Jesus. If I did believe a 10 would have fit, but sadly I don't believe in something I don't understand.

I've read four of your others poems not voting, because the ideas of them we'ren't my cup of tea.
This one was really good, and maybe the others were too but they just shit in my eyes. At lease they are after reading this one.

I feel that the full-stops at the end of each line make the whole thing particularly poignant. I know exactly what you mean about being stabbed in the back! My ex-husband once stole all my marzipan, which I was saving for a special occasion. I really feel like you can share my pain. Hey, you've just got to ride things out and wait for the gootimes to roll around again. -10-

Would you ever actually consider saying this out loud, let alone singing it?
Here are the highlights of rubbishdom:
a)But i don't need a fucking sunrise
b)But now my ignorance came back to me
Breaking the chains and setting this heart free
c)Doesn't mean you can't have your candlelight dinners
d)Don't need a fucking sunrise
Don't give a shit 'bout a sunset
Used to admire your bright blue eyes
Unfortunately, Poemranker's ranking system does not go low enought to do justice to these cataclysmic lyrics, so I will have to be content with awarding you a -0-
