One need not believe in god to have a decent life.
"W knew where exactly where the cake was"- You have an extra "where" in there. I like the idea, but you know the army is getting sick from depleted uranium, too, so I think "army doesn't care about uranium" is a little harsh, since most of the army is made up of normal, working class people, not the people who make decisions about uranium.
New Life Drug on God is a Lady by thepinkbunnyofdoom 7 Aug 2003, 9:55 PM
awesome title. great poem. The relationship portrayed between the devil and..well..God as the lady is very good. the phrase "kitties galore" kinda scares me though..hahaha the pink bunny rules!!!

I would replace the word "depression" with something else like.. agony.. it made it sound so cliche and prescribed.. I hate hearing poems like this.. it reminds me of my old ones.. I got a really nice image thought with the veins in knots.hahah

EAger to Offend on Bedroom Butchershop by dragonfly 7 Aug 2003, 11:23 PM
I know that feeling and it isn't fun. But, this poem is.
Rhetoric, yes, but I like the contrast you've laid out for your readers: says this/does this. www.impeachbush.com

You can do it.

One of your best, but the "burning is all I can feel" begs to be insulted with a comment about STD's, especially since it follows the line about the narrator's past.
I like the image of god's highrise apt. with pictures of kitties. Couple of typos: "She get(S) many calls still but enjoys other's (should be others') misery"
How could you fictionalize birthday trauma? On a nonfiction note: On my 11th neglected birthday my parents forgot me at the YMCA after closing hours (with their phone off the hook until the janitor had to give me a ride home at the hour of 10 o'clock.) It is too painful to even attempt to rhyme. Sniff.
Your bodiless head reminds me of Futurama. Workers of the world unite.
Great. But yeah, like INTRANSIT said, the trombone? The trombone is such a circus instrument, makes it seem like this moment is going on in the background of a cakewalk. Is that what you are going for? The tone doesn't seem so jolly as to call for a trombone solo. That is my only complaint, 10.

Yikes! You need to get back to the safety of floors. I enjoyed it.

I think the words "indecent" and "proposal" can never again be used next to each other. The rest is good.
Retaliate on blue lilac and I (edit) by richa 7 Aug 2003, 8:23 PM
Very nice richa. E-minor is a chord, by the way, which would take multiple instruments to hear. This is unfortunate because the poem really enjoys having a solitary instrument, but also benefits from recognizing specifically an e-minor feel. Perhaps: 'and picking from the still air a dorian scent of trombone' (Dorian is a mode that has a minoresque feel to it and can be played with a series of notes on a single instrument.)
hey horus!!! I haven't been around in a long time. this was the latest poem so I thought I'd sat hey and good job on the poetry (as always). had i been posting stuff I would have said a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY! k..adios..
