Short and cute like Drew Barrymore.
Great dream, good poem
Take the paracetamol, you'll feel better
A neat idea, it carries your angst
Funny, i thought I voted on this before. Did you edit? I still like it.
My morning Christof and one of my favorites!! Were you in Branson, Missouri. Glassblowers everywhere. Damn, you even have birds in glass, impressive. The last stanza is one of the best I have seen on the site! Excellent stuff! Now to the poo...
Dear PoetandDontKnowit:
I am not mad at anything. Apparently have mistaken me for someone who has claimed to have written a poem called fleas. I never claimed any such a thing. Secondly, you could probably write better poetry if you could realize you weren't put on this earth to be the Poem Police; and Lastly, Have a nice day. I meant no harm.
Anybody that would give this poem a 10 has obviously never read anything above the 5th grade. So I am assume it is self-induced with one from the peep bigdog. It was done at recess when the teacher was not looking.
yOU ARE MAKING THE ASSUMPTION i KNEW THAT WAS A POEM WRITTEN BY OGDEN NASH. sIMPLY NOT TRUE. i THINK YOU NEED TO PONDER THE FACT THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE NOT AS SMART AS YOU, AND DONT KNOW THE NAMES OR AUTORS OF EVERY SINGLE POEM LIKE YOU DO.
You write about things you know nothing of, and you do it very badly. This looks like a mis-mosh of trite observations you heard at a peace rally. "unrully sink lower" what the hell is that? The 1st stanza is such a twisted mess it is almost completely incomprehensable.
Mate .....Its not a poem, but a piece of prose .You have arranged lines & sreamed thoughts to fit a form. Ideas images are not encouraged. It has plenty of potential but no challenge.
I think the last stanza lets it down a bit - the syntax in the last line is slightly hackneyed - but the opening is very atmospheric and the feeling is real. I'd cut the ellipsis though.
This is full of strong images. One small point, if you had just been drinking whiskey, would you have smelt the sweet liquor on him ? In my experience its only when you have not been drinking that you are aware of the smell on others. That apart great-10/10
The first death i remember was when an old man died on the street on my way to school. they hadn't covered him when i showed up. This poem evokes my memories of that so perfectly. Very real. uncontrived.
Here is someone who truly wants to be anonymous, describing themselves as "Hi!! I just turned 6 and I write poetry. My mommy and daddy love my work and
say I am the next Robert Lowell. I don't know who that is or anything but they
told me about this site and I wanted to share my writing and poetry with the
world. I have a best friend and I love to play with my dog and eat happy meals.
I am a Christian, SWM who loves to chat after mommy and daddy go to bed.
Please do not be to mean to my poems. Please. Pretty please. "
With a mouth like that, I you must be some Christian
P&K, love the gulls. Birds rock don't they? I like this poem, sesnually it's very strong.
this is really good. i'm kinda confused, but that's ok, the poem has that feeling through out and it works. good job!t
I see you vote on your own poems. How cute!
Doggie, though P&K is a lot of things, he posts what i assume to be his own poetry. you don't. you are a plagirizing little hack, robbing the graves of witers you could never be.
