Nicholas I hope you didn't mind me using your poem as a springboard for a lecture. sorry!
lol! this geats the horus8 "pure talent award for late night poetry...you sir are no rottweiler you are a weiner dog with a crooked tail and a gas problem.
rock on sis! my shows coming up...you really should do something with the title...could i recommend something? how about underdogging cupid or equipoise saved the ranch hand or feeling tomatoes when i really just need a warm cucumber? just taking a stab in the dark..that's it.." a stab in the dark"! ta da!
It was obviously a sexed up time on poemranker last night. Shame I wasn't around to add my own two-penn'orth to the whole horse/man dilemma. My first experience of sex was when the horse i was riding vigorously mounted a young mare while i was still on its back. Ever since I have felt somewhat in awe of our equine friends. But I don't have a room full of them. I've been very careful, oh Queen of Bigamy, and stuck to just a couple of ladies. Seems much easier!
There's a lot of imagery here I don't quite get - the glycerine road? The final 'set a chain of gold'? 'Birch beaked into the wind' sounds good but I don't know what you mean by it. Perhaps I'm just being dense, but it seems to me you need to think about the meaning of your images as well as the aural prettiness of them.
Using the word cunt doesn't make you big and clever, just umimaginative. I managed to cause controversy by saying bombing Afghanistan was wrong - much more satisfying.
If this is ironic, it's very funny - deconstructing empty culture.
This is great - the first stanza really kicks it off, I like the dig at the Eisteddfod's 'authenticity' and your very realistic view of Wales. And there is hope at the end. Definitely your best yet.
I'm afraid I agree with Tintagiles. You also put a lot of thought into your poems and debate crucial issues, but sometimes you forget to put it into poetic form - there's no rhythm here, unlike your 'Glamorgan' poem.
if you read the left first and then all of the right in <666> it sounds way better...you should tag this one with that warning "read everything with out <> first and then all the <> in order from top to bottom next..carry on
