There is quite a bit there. I'd like to see some stanza breaks. And as one example, you tell me "my old feeble body" - I rather get that from the rest, or should. Telling me the same thing several times in standard ways, is not nearly as effective as telling me once - but in a memorable way. Having said that, I think this is a notch or so above average; some good vocab. It could pretty easily be more - might even be a two or more poems in here.

To answer your first question: I did. I sang them because I was taught, and I still think my parents were right to teach them. They said their world was going to the dogs, and it wasn't near as bad as mine in regard to the moral issues they and you are complaining about. Still I sing Peace on Earth, Good Will to Men, because it's right and they were right and you are right if you don't lose faith. UNTIL THEN.

I like it because of it's final line. Three dimensional logic is fuckin restrictive, and nothing will cause you more heart ache. Hope is fleeting, happiness fleeting, glory fleeting.. but we can have the time of our lives chasing them down. This is and "we are".

Hey, I like this guy. He and I could sing a couple of good old country songs togther. "He Stopped Loving Her Today," "Didn't Know God Made Honky Tonk Angels" and the like. Was he drinking an American Brew? I prefer a dark beer myself with plenty of salty nuts.
