You might be right on the caesura. Close call. It feels a bit enjambment heavy maybe. Getting sober?
I think that Zodiac once(perhaps more) refered to me as a "dimtard.' If that comment had been in regard to my comment on this poem, I would have to agree. Yeah, I see what you mean about the masts brushing. Don't know about haiku commas but there should be a natural caesura at the end of each line. If I had read more carefully, I might have caught the masts waiting and the sheets brushing. Too much lack of Alcohol last night. Three weeks and counting the seconds.
again, I should trust my instincts. upgraded.
"curiously evocative"
Mmmm - evokes a feeling of consternation and unsettled bow'ls in me.
i think the masts are waiting and the fog is brushing. "Tall, waiting masts?" or is the fog waiting and brushing? Great images.
because fish poon Mike really likes!
Hey great use of "nifty" to rhyme with "eternity", and "fast" to rhyme with... "ass"!!!!111 -10-
We're all brats, aren't we?
Now mike is a collossal tripe.
Sailboat waiting to sail or sailing though foggy. Like it.
Try "Peace that Passes Understanding" again and see if my explanation makes sense. I'd like to know.
Very little action on Poemranker today. I mean by users who don't call themselves "not Dovina."
Sure, if you're going to make a comment about skaters, at least try a little harder. Anyway, stereotype me if you wish, all skaters arent losers and potheads and idiots. Some of us actually have a soul. I dont care if you dont like my poems, i really dont. I like writing, im not going to stop, when i do that'll be the day i die. The more you tell me to stop, the more im going to continue doing it.
(Just from an asshole's point of view)
I have read some of your poems, we are at two different places and I don't mean poetically, I mean places in our lives in regards to perspective, so thats not a slam on your writing, but thanks for your input.
I need to be able to see what others might see in my work.
(revised because someone pointed out something i might have been implying which i wasn't)
dear horoscope thingy,
thanks for your whole thing there, but it doesn't apply to me, because what i wrote wasn't an excuse, i am more than open to constructive critism, what i wrote was a joke (my response not my poem) due to the tone of Mac... i read several of his comments on various poet's poems and i think he's funny, i wrote something clever in hopes that he would comeback...but i still totally appreciate your list thing, but i truly do think this is a good poem in need of some tweeking, i posted it for advice, if i thought it was ok i wouldn't post it, if any of us thought what we were doing was ok, we wouldn't post. this site is about validation, so even you my horoscope thingy are here because of insecurity...i'm thinking you are a number four.
meow and a lick to you,
cat
Nice re-write.
Curiously evocative.
The following, posted for your edufacation, are the Official Compleat Buncombe Dodges of Inveterate Guffers. Harken ye, etc., etc.
1) "My string of arbitrarily-linebroken abstract-to-the-max gobbles has caused you to question X or ponder X, whether or not that was my original intention, though now and forever hereafter I will say it was. I am a raging success at everything."
ADDENDUM TO 1) "I'm always pleasantly surprised at the variety of interpretations I get for the abovementioned, a.l.a.t.t.m.g.s, all of which are true (even though I hadn't thought of them) except the negative ones. I'm a fucking artistic genius."
3) "I meant for this poem to be bad. I'm a jester."
4) "I wrote this in only 15.5 seconds. Fuck you."
5) "I've read your poems and they all suck. Therefore, I'm immune to your criticism."
ADDENDUM TO 5) "I don't think we're at the same place, poetically speaking. This is because I'm better than you."
6) "You give no specifics."
7) [Some disingenuously positive response to the one positive comment on your poem, despite that the comment poster is a known dim.]
8) [Nothing.]
Goddamn you for not sucking, I want to mock someone this morning.
I liked the not sorry part, I liked the whole thing, but the end changed it to being just a "my life is so horrible" poem into something else, it could be the horrible life poem with a twist if you view the person in this poem as so out of their mind that their sorry doesn't matter, because they can't apologize for something they have no control over.
So it's some kind of last grasp at control, a failed one.
