Actually, yes, in the sense that a 'statue of mashed potatoes' means an 'unmoving object filled with [and made of] mashed potatoes', but I somehow doubt that's what you meant.

"*statue of apprehension* means *unmoving object filled with fearful anticipation*," -- Nope.
MacFrantic replying on Love, Fair by MacFrantic 27 Apr 2004, 11:47 AM
!First off, *statue of apprehension* means *unmoving object filled with fearful anticipation*, not *understanding*, or *capture* as apprehension is also the definition of these things! Secondly, without getting ahead of myself, you must understand that I am referring to the sleeping beauty as a symbol, NOT as a half-assed gimmick brought on by the Disney corporation or, as you have come to know her, a shallow caricature of a deeper Grimm's Fairytale character. If I had said *This is an ode to the beauty which will never be rescued* would the critics maybe read it over again instead of spending their time with their heads up their asses. Or would that be asking too much of the people? By the way, YES Capulet is Juliet's last name. *Damn

Not utterly thrilling, but then again, you are on a rascol scooter in a high wind.

Fear of Garbage, I have to nominate you for Current Sexiest Poemranker User, especially in light of the recent sudden abdication of that post by Joe-joe. Jesus, you're enough to make an old man consider pederasty.
Yes, oblivion becomes me is awful, but there are some good parts, especially your tendency toward internal rhyme.
Oh yes. That's very good.
Miss out has from the first line, it is just confusing.

I like this a lot, but would leave out "runes and" The fern also is bothersome because all ferns do best in north shade and all are burned by frost if one is.
'oblivion becomes me' is terrible. Some decent parts I think. The urge to write bit, the fades into subtelty, the spastic idiocy. Don't like the misogynism, and you know the response talking about pot gets you.

Capulet is is from Romeo and Juliet I think. How is Sleeping Beauty a statue of apprehension? I wish you hadn't said it was Sleeping Beauty.

Some punctuation would help. I sort of get it.

You have the aura of election upon you.

That is the best thing in the world ever.

"He leaned toward me and put his face inches from mine. “You have the aura of election upon you,” he breathed. I hoped he was talking about my poetry. I moved back and took the manuscript and turned it around so he could read. The next thing I knew, his heavy, boneless hand was hot on my thigh. I lurched away. “This is not what I meant,” I stammered. The whole thing had suddenly taken on the quality of a bad horror film. The floor spun. By now my back was against the sink, which was as far away as I could get. He moved toward me. I turned away from him toward the sink and found myself vomiting. Bloom disappeared. When he reemerged - from the bedroom with his coat — a moment later, I was still frozen, my back against the sink. He said: “You are a deeply troubled girl.” Then he went to the table, took the rest of his sherry, corked the bottle, and left." - [Famous feminist Blake scholar] Naomi Wolf describing being sexually harassed in 1983 by [even more famous sexist Blake scholar] Harold Bloom "I can't help it. I was born with this face of an aged lecher." - sexist Blake scholar Harold Bloom, responding to her charges For proof, take a look at http://tinyurl.com/2q5fl

The comment I make in my poems tends to be the flaws in the logic of the voices. i.e. why the hermit is outcast: 'he has no sweet tooth'.

Ringo was a decent drummer. Here's some Blake for you: "God bless thy poor bald pate. God bless. thy hollow winking eyes God bless thy shriveld beard. God. bless. thy many wrinkled forehead Thou hast no teeth old man & thus I kiss thy sleek bald head Heva come kiss his bald head for he will not hurt us Heva" - Tiriel 2:32-35

I would like your insight please ... do you know the crux of the verse and what i'm trying to convey ? AGAIN , am i speaking figuratively or literally in terms of the valley or i know , does it matter ...lol by the way , i could use vale instead of dell or dale , only a matter of semantics ... or course i could use dell and then HELL ! which might be to your liking methinks ... just kidding ! you said the last two lines are a train crash ... again what am i trying to convey or again does it matter ? serious ... thank u kindly for the crit... take care recherche Recha ... not really ... can u explain the verse , what's my inner animus saying if u care or not ... marigolds in a valley ... me seen them , well in my dreams , which in fact are surreal methinks ... am i not a realist when it comes to poetry ... only in the real world ...methinks lol... getting serious thank u so much for stopping by to comment! good or bad crit , I do appreciate it ... take care recherche
