I liked "I hold solace in my hand", and though perhaps you could simply do something mure subtle with the ball dropping. waiting for the out bugs me more than the ball, I think. Though it's hard to say. And I don't really "get" stowing solace. an 8, here.
Would it happen to be a lovely Connectycuttian by the name of zed oops I mean zee? Actually I think the NFG site is great. I shot an email sometime last week saying how much I loved it. (Rather than repeat everything here I'll see if z still has it and ask her to forward you a copy.) I'm on there almost every day subbing poems because z's rejection letters make my pants so damn tight.

The stanza about September is wonderful.

thanks for the kind comment, and thanks for the help.
I didn't make you or break you, so why should I feel sorry for your poetry. I am guilty of nothing except giving you my honest opinion. Stop beating yo-self up, concentrate on ya positive side. P.S. IT'S HANDICAPPED, AND THE POEM IS STILL SHITE.

9. nicely done. [Or I'm in a good mood this morning, but I don't quite think it's that]

Dave - you mysterious dick. This is a public forum where people vent their work for others to comment. Therefore if one would want to express themselves in peace they would not submit their work to poemranker (why, I pixie you)

I'll give you a zero if you really want. I guess you want comments on your 'serious' poems rathey than this one right?
Your comments are so hurtful that I'm considering giving up poetry for good. I hope you're pleased with yourself, Mr Cheese, if that is your real name. I have no more to say on the matter.

"the case of the naive gazer *is* aligning the stars*? or... the case? no, I just don't get that. why a comma after hidden? and a semicolon after swap? and a comma after meant? I think I like this poem but for its structure. or the punctuation. if you're going to have so much, why not actually match it up the way it's "supposed" to go? (or if you're tossing it in randomly, is that meant to be a comment on the stars? everything else seems deliberate...?) 6 as is.

well done, overall; I really like the form you used here. perhaps too blatant throughouht, and "time does not move forward in this place" made me think you had killed her, while later lines disabused this notion. thoughts.
cute, though the first and third lines seem too connected.

"to" hard? perhaps. "of which you depend"? ew. "one" and "come" should be split by a comma. the flow is rocky. to a point? I see the one point, but the poem's got bits sticking out every which way, detracting (I think) from the spearhead. but a cute idea.
I don't think you're judgement was fair by any means. Look at the form of art. Don't look at it in a "I'm manly man and hate all stupid girl love poems." I think I did a fine job of potraying the thoughts, the feeling and making you see how someone without a voice would see these happenings. Think how you would feel if you were mute then see the art at hand. Not saying it's the best... but its far better than a 3. But hey I'm handicapt so why shouldn't my scores be too, right?

YOu know as well as I do that us poemranker pure breeds are a dying breed, so why wouldn't you believe that Settle might be capable, or in fact did indeed, commit suicide? Life, my friend, is funny like that, even if you don't like to laugh. Here are your answers: A. Yes, aren't we all. B. I don't know. That's a good question. But bwetween me and you settle, and I, were closer than you'll ever know, and we still are. C. He had a thing for control? And Michael hutchinson. D. Please, as if Rhode Island is that big? How many schools could there be that would have enrolled such a loose canon as Settle in the first place. E. His Grandfather lives out here with his Step Grandmother in Bel air. He came out, we went to the Getty, and saw freddy vs. Jason, and the next day I have had him over for dinner? What is that too far fetched? It's the twenty first century and only a four hour flight you daft, not a "continent" We had carne asada, he was with a young jewish girl, but clearly gay and happy (with the food of course, and the cocktails) My son was even scared of him at first because he was very tall and... Well, weird, after all he's Hungarian, but then again so is my left foot on my mother's side, of the bed. I even drove him to the airport, though I was half asleep. The conversation was stimulating as can be expected, and we chortled and snipped about terrorism, and remote controlled jets carrying small nucleur devices. F. (is for finally) Because I loved him, and it deserves to be posted. I have it because he gave it to me, months ago, during one of our email conversations 'showing off' to me like usual, and I thought it should be read that's all. It's not like I plagarised it, or changed, and I gave him full credit, so why are you concerned, jealous? well, then, there you have it. You're excused.

Yes, I know and my reply 'was' once again, the elevated side and or 90 degree angle that juts down into the gutter from the side of the concrete path that pedestrians, whether wheel chaired, dog walking, or jogging upon, where i come from, is called a curb. The appropriate term by real maniacs like myself that really would do such a thing such as stomping on the back of ones head while the are biting the 'curb' is called a 'curbing' you fucking idiot. but, alas, i propose that indeed it would be exciting to see you actually stand let alone get violent. You are about as whole heartedly frightening as a dry piece of rice.
