This is the best poem at the moment? Can't people get past the cliched metaphors and some frankly naive writing. I mean, keeping your heart under 'lock and key'? done a thousand times before, Crystal, 'you have mastered quite a feat' - ? That's what the queen says to people who have climbed a mountain for the first time! Funny how 12 of the 16 10 votes are anonymous, isn't it? -5-

Sushi is not actually raw fish, it is lightly fried in vinegar. As such, I give you -1- cos the rest of the poem is an affront to my beliefs.

Kinda like my room, guitars and bed and all, not the cigarettes, or the supposed messed up head. I'm happy with myself actually. -7-

An aero-space museum? That sounds pretty cool to me, in a geeky kind of way. Beats the hell outta Woolworths, where my boss called me a transvestite, just cos I put on a santa jacket which turned out to be a womans size! Twat. Also worked in a pet-shop, so you could call me a 'pet-shop boy' budum tcsh! Boy I should do stand up, or at least sit down.

Seeing as many of you don't know what jodphurs are, allow me to explain. Typically ron by the landed gentry of the British Empire, these garments are tight so as to support the leg whilst riding. They are also textured like courdorauys so as to give friction and furthur maintain the support and therefore balance of the horserider. Some more extravagant types have rounded sections at the side of the thigh that stick out. No-one knows why this is, as it doesn't help with the riding seat at all, it is one of those mysteries, like Loch Ness Monster and poor people. Anyway, I must be off to my riding. I'm fully prepared to be tossed off by a frisky young Arab!!!

I must tell a truth, the first stanza is not mine, it was written by a friend of Rupert Brooke, describing him on the eve of WW1, so I cannot take credit for it. The rest is mine though, I thought I'd develop the original.

Nice idea, a little weaker towards the end, too much sentimentality for my taste, but a wonderful idea.

Beautiful.
No seriously, awesome stuff. The Falaise Gap was one of the most shocking and horrific scenes in all the war. This evokes what I imagine it would have been like once it was eventually quiet.
