This is really boring, but at least it wasn't long.

A nicely told boyhood story. Bravo!

Hey, remember all those nights when I was laying your kid sister and you were down in the bottom bunk and you didn't say anything about it or go tell your folks - were you jerking off to us then? God! That's terrible! I mean, it was your ten-year-old sister, for Christ's sake! Shame! Shame!

I don't think you lay the blame 'to' something. You might lay it *on*, or *assign* it to something. Other than that, good.

Not your best, but still good and I like it.

I hate to rewrite anyone's poem, but I think you should change these lines: "you'll find them after your heart is broken" and "if for no other reason than to let them go" and "A waterfall coming faster and stronger" and "But your room's getting smaller these days." Not bad, or wouldn't have gone to the trouble.

I have no idea what you are talking about. No vote.

everything just makes it worse / you’ll never hear me yell "it’s like my life is one big curse"

The last line would be better "We all went home having learned nothing." Maybe that's what you meant. This is one of your best, anyway.

Would that it could be top 40
Re: genome home zone by sarah Shuushin 207.5.211.177 19-Apr-04/3:08 PM
catchy, clever title. kill "of the genome" "with the want for a familar" to "with want of familiar" - and a very good use of "familiar", too. I think the ending doesn't do it justice - I know you know what you mean, but the promise of the beginning isn't followed through with this confessional wrap-up. Know what I mean - one doesn't follow the other; this ending could be tacked onto anything.

no. When I like the user name more than the poem, something is broken.
