Re: To those that would teach poetry by INTRANSIT Goad 217.82.0.76 27-Jan-04/2:25 AM
Interesting, I don't read this as a FU at all, but rather expressing eagerness to learn and be pushed to learn even though it can be torturous. INTRANSIT?

Two words: Retard poem. That is all.

Excellent. Almost as good as my "Existence". 10

An interesting concepton the notion of breaking wind. It is all a philosophy.

I think it would be a grand percent better without the "without delay" - as it is, its fairly good and I can see it working very well at a poetry reading.
Re: Dry Beast Night by fevriere Shuushin 147.154.235.53 27-Jan-04/6:41 AM
interesting rhymes and near-word reflections. It struck me (not harshly) more as an exercise, albeit a good one, rather than a poem that can stand on its own; a little too much of one trick in the pony-beast. Having said all that - this beast is a sestina fer crying out loud, and one of the more cogent ones I've read in a while so; huge kudos for that. Nice job.
Re: Drying, Cracked Roots by AnotherNothing Shuushin 147.154.235.53 27-Jan-04/6:50 AM
I like that it is a non-typical angle on the life of a tree; futility rather than growth and life (the same thing, perhaps). What about changing the last "trees" to a specific kind of trees? Don't do willow - too "done". Alternatively, maybe a specific *part* of a tree (trunks, roots, branches...). anyway, I like what you have, more so for the different perspective.

there is a sound to irony, and this is not far off.
Re: Lullaby by Goad irishfolksuicide 81.178.213.66 27-Jan-04/7:47 AM
The war bit and the pills bit look as if they shouldn't be there. Otherwise nicely told
Re: We Need To Buy Socks, Michael by Fear of Garbage irishfolksuicide 81.178.213.66 27-Jan-04/7:53 AM
Afraid I could not work out the last two lines. Which is a shame because the poem built up well.

this is beautiful. i went into thinking oh god a lullaby, but you surprised me. spiders and pills, spiders and pills. 10

peter is always such a coy word to use, nice juxtaposition with wipes it on me.

The last thing we can afford to be as writers is our own sensitive swooning stereotypes. Think of this as boot camp, drumrgrl, and go on.
Re: Bloom Inside by hatedestruction -=Dark_Angel=-, P.I. 131.111.212.215 27-Jan-04/8:45 AM
This reminds me of the four years I spent as bo'sun on the treasure scow "Forearms II". Eventually I was discharged for bursting into the officer's mess and stabbing the captain's lobster, dressing up in its boiled pink shell and cavorting and shrieking between the men's bunks until the mate captured me with the emergency jodhpurs. Ah, great days, great days.

Magnificent. I wonder, what will she think? Will she know?
Re: My happy warm faith poem by Jeremi B. Handrinos Goad 217.82.10.207 27-Jan-04/12:14 PM
there ya go. where's little_big_nose when I need him to rub his nose in something? uh, "Though I have a loving...blister." is an incomplete sentence; are you sure you didn't want a comma there instead of a period? I particularly love the "You are getting sleepy..."
Re: Kernel of truth by annabellee andrewjthomas 192.150.10.200 27-Jan-04/12:23 PM
husk??? where's Dark Angel when you need him? seriously though, while this is written fine with no serious problems i just didn't feel anything your word choice is a bit boring as are your imagery and i don't know that you really have anything to say here

Well... that was an exploding lukewarm dildo.

don't you mean supple instead of subtle? i don't see anything subtle about her breasts personally of course, i'm sure that could just be part of the joke
