far more interesting than the posts it is in reaction to. Great fun as an in-joke on societate de wanker. But it also stands alone, with that Bukowskian last line.

Have I seen you on "Taxicab Confessions"?
Re: Clouds by dancin_n_da_moonlite zodiac 212.38.134.51 6-Feb-05/1:17 AM
The 'foil' and 'silver lining' part was cool. It doesn't make the rest of the poem worth it, though.

I like the last line. I would probably rewrite everything else. Try including some poetry along the way, and maybe making a couple of real sentences.

Great. Are you really Emily Dickinson?
Re: Girly by Dovina Dan garcia-Black 66.218.59.51 6-Feb-05/9:57 AM
I really like this poem. It is very light-hearted with much sarcasm. I believe the last four lines would be better re-arranged as follows: "but I’m better off girly than a poetess, surely this poem of mine doesn't seem to rhyme" It puts the heavy-handed "girly conclusion" inside the poem and makes the end a "typically girly" comment(in the sacastic sense in which you write about the subject of girliness).

I like it but the ending is elusive and not satisfying, please elaborate.

I love your style, it is serene and surreal and smooth - although I am confused about the last line.

All this seems a little "unsettling" as do most beautiful things.

A shy girl who was recently dumped On PR with her poetry jumped. We'll do nothing but damn her For spelling and grammar And rhyme have -- like love -- got her stumped.

The first verse of this poem is the most tender and nicely worded sentiment I have read in a long time. Some people on this site will say I’m just swooning to a line. Let them talk, because I believe you. I’ll give them their only satisfaction by saying that the second verse is a bit cliché, but it too is something I believe you mean. The third verse matches the first in warmth and tenderness, and the line, “even when you don’t understand” is perfect. Thank you jroday, you’ve been through a lot and come through strong.

Isn't it a bit arogant to say that's your only flaw? I assume you're exaggerating purposely. But because I don't know, only a 6.

Terrible, but funny.
Re: Lust, and the Sad Soul by woodstock20000 zodiac 212.38.134.51 7-Feb-05/12:43 AM
You mean "It shudders in its own immortality." And "its" in the next line, too. "wonders" should be "wanders". And you can't wander "along" a place. You can wander along a promenade, the bank of a winding creek, or nearly anything else commonly understood as having length. A "place" does not.
