Great! The first line lures you in. There's just something about this that's all-consuming. A life's lesson here summed up in a few lines.

O wayward minstrel! Bestill thy warbling tongue! Thine irksome ballads tumble like elves 'pon the ears of wailing Netherfolk!

"But none could appreciate the pain
That lurked behind that melancholic strain"
O how often I have felt like that, as naked, lewd, and writhing, I toil o'er the pit. And in the garden, do not womenfolk and dung-cherubs behold my wails? And yet they pay but little heed. For 'tis oft' heard told, in the wooded glades of Derbyshire, that 'tis sweet and proper for an Gentleman to labour ere he casts stool. I daresay such whisperings hold little comfort for those forced to dine on rock-porridge and boiled chestnuts. O Jesu! Becalm my gnashing buttocks!

A nice read, and definetely full of empathy. The turmoil we call life can cause a sense of longing, but it's the syntax, the breaking sun from the clouds, that lets us know this has happened so many times.

The isolation comes across well, but it lacks any esthethic quality. it's flat and needs more dimension.

Well I was reading through some of your poems that I'd already previously voted for, and I definitely know why I gave this one a 9. It's a shame that I didn't leave a comment though.
The lines:
"cutting out the unwanted pieces of palpatating veins
there never was a clever way to reinvent my name
nothing normal, acting out, borderline no fucking doubt"
are great. For lack of better words, I really liked them. lol. It's blunt and to the point. Good write.

I liked this. People too often want things just for material possessions, or because someone else expects them to desire it. Once again, good write.

Golly, S. It's been so long since I've had the option of choosing sides that I sleep wherever I happen to pass out from the booze (floor, couch, computer desk or the usual-- bathroom). I mean, if I have to choose something, I'll choose top over bottom 8 nights a week. Good read -9- I'm a fan of bedtime.

it seems like a little to much of a "journal entry" type of poem. i really do like the question type of finish to each stanza. something i never did but really like the sound to it. you also throw exactly how you feel into writting. something i tend to stay away from but it helps the reader see the situation. thanks for commenting on my poem by the way.

The first verse ushers me into a room opened through the string beads of your title. From there on it seems it should be simple, but no so. Am I missing something, must be, not like you to say you're alone and can sleep anywhere on the bed in so many words?

(parallel acrostic) Hey! not bad at all.
couple gotchas in there "A Ordeal" s/b "An Ordeal" so you'll likely have to play with that again.
and "Yarns" is a sticking point.
But still - good and interesting work.
