I completely understand the point of the poem and actually agree with the basis. In fact, though, I think we agree more often than not...maybe just not on religious matters. Also, I was drunk last night and not in the best of moods.

Oh, what’s that thing from church…about “Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us?” Well, I feel rather sinned against, what with all the dyin’ and killin’ and nobody who could stop it, stoppin’ it. I’m Just tryin’ to forgive that person, that’s all. I don’t expect many folks to see it that way, especially those like you who don’t pay much attention to church. It’s just the way I feel about it. Of course there are those who think that because I feel a certain way about something that I’m being arrogant and abrasive as if I wanted everybody to think as I do. But I don’t because then they’d be as messed-up as I am, and besides, what fun is it to have everybody agree with me, nobody to argue with, nobody to tell me I’m arrogant, illogical and didactic? I got much love ya, too. Not because I agree with ya, or you with me very often though. And I like your 6 better than if it were a 10. It’s just because talkin’ works with some folks, and with others it’s a waste of time.

I also had no idea she was hypatia. I'm still not sure if she is, but it seems pretty likely that if she wasn't she'd have denied it by now. Unless, of course, she's in one of her 'rising above all the immaturity' moods :(

If you are (leaving poemranker), I'd like you to consider not. Instead, you might try changing your idea that several poemranker users personally hate you (the thought never crossed my mind, for one,) and instead focusing on the things we've been pointing out from the beginning: namely, that your poetry often contains huge logical gaps, has practically no poetic elements, and takes a didactic tone that several users I know, including myself, find more than a little abrasive and arrogant. This IS a poetry comment and criticism site, you know.

I'm still not about to rush to judgments. I've thought Dovina was hypatia for some time, but then I remembered that hypatia came on this site talking about (a) logic, but badly, and then (b) how poems don't need logic, she was just going to write poems using the language of logic for her own unfathomable purposes so all the people criticising her for (a) could figure out where to shove it. Until she went and deleted everything and vanished. The idea of her doing it all over again in exactly the same way was - and is - simply mindboggling. If Dovina is hypatia, she probably thinks we all knew who she was from the beginning and have just restarted our old personal attacks on her. Dovina, I'm telling you, if it's true I didn't know. I just really have a problem with people's floundering illogic.

My poem is about the torture of hearing the phrase "dot.com" over and over and over again in virutally all forms of media throughout the era of the dot.com boom which emanated out of Silicon Valley a few years ago. Nowadays, "dot.com" is not so pervasive, but it sure was then. This poem was the device I came up with to free my mind from the phrase's monotonous grip. The PodPoet http://podpoet.com

As I've made no secret, I'm not a big fan of modern poetry that sounds like it was written 200 years ago. Still, it's not too bad so I'll vote 6. Note-200 years ago, I'd have given it an 8.

I like it, but I'm guessing it's a translation. Now, I can respect the work you put into a translation, but I don't feel that's it's an original work (and I've heard the debates.) Good job, but I will hold my vote. P.S.-If I'm wrong and it's an original, let me know and I'll vote.
