richa on Call Vegas!!! by INTRANSIT 12 Nov 2003, 2:08 PM
At first this made sense, then the bit about 3 women to one man confused me, then I thought the chance of a man holding a position of superiority is 1 in 4 (out of four people one will be a man). One person holding the given position equates to victory for men everywhere. Not sure I believe the figures by the way, women outnumber men the most in wartorn countries where the men go out to fight, on the whole. Anyway an interesting little puzzle at any rate.

Interesting observation - rings true. Have a Ten.

A nice bit of prose here and well said. Some of the line breaks seem not to help though, and serve mostly to remind that this really is a collection of paragraphs within a larger story - with a rushed ending.

Thank you. Yes I am impoverished vocabulyricly. I have found poetry to be a fun way to expand myself. I was unaware that this topic was a no-no in the 18th cent. I wasn't trying to impress any kind of emotion with this piece, only trying to raise eyebrows. Thanks again.

This simple confession redeems the speaker from his own impoverished language. He bears witness to something that eighteenth-century poetry seemed at times embarrassed of. What transfixes him in song is not its content, but its emotionally expressive music. The listener does not understand why she sings in melancholy, only what the emotion itself is.

I don't suppose you or I or rockmage, have any Ideas as how to end the war? Well, here's mine. Jam the airlines with americans, hundreds of thousands, send them to Iraq wearing t-shirts that say: I know this war is not going to help, how can I? Or something similar. I know, stupid, radical crazy. Let's spitball.
Line 4 makes this.
