I see, the smoke from cracks being volcanic eruptions, cosmic defect etc.
In that case I think the poem would benefit from drawing the two together rather than mentioning human defects, universe defects apart.
but that's the thing... that's not what it's about completely. it is not our fault at all, there were flaws from the outset. i know this touches severely on deism, but the living universe also borders some other Worldviews i dont care to expound upon.
I think the syllable sounds of a word are more important than syllables per line. That is why the flow of different haikus can be so variable.
The only problem I see here is forestall (the same as stall?) it seems to stop my reading dead.
No need for the double line breaks.
I like some of the description, perhaps the analysis needs to be a bit deeper than 'the world is going to end, it is all our fault'.
Try something to connect the reader, not a cliche, cliches have long since lost their evocative power.
Many people have written poems like this, give or take a few words here and there. Why should we like yours?
Well, since you asked - maybe another verb, maybe something beginning with "f": fling me, find me, flip me, you could come up with a good one, surely.
as for dribble... if made to stop and ponder the word, as you have just done to me, it brings to mind an old man who can't quite relieve himself, or who can't stop ... or a chocolate desert topping; and that's a bit disturbing [that I have both images together]. I'm telling myself that for the latter I was thinking of "drizzle", so that would work well, I like that one.
As an aside, you can pretty much shuffle the first words of the last three lines around without changing the meaning - but the first line has picture and paint together working well. Maybe you could do something like that with the other lines, though it might mess with the cadence if you aren't carefull.
I notice that drizzle and drought would go... hand and time would work too... okay, my head is starting to hurt, but maybe you have enough ideas for another piece.
Only if it amuses, inspires or is easy to ignore.

Don't you know a condom packet when your hit with one?
Id say i so this in Male' - before he fucking went off 2 Australia...So it aint fr Aisha. Must be fr the sis of Jesus:o)
so does whores - but many cant live without them:o)
What did you try, exactly? As for the ketchup, you could have at least taken it out of the little packets first.
you amuse me again, bobjim. thankee.
If that were the case I would be in a serious dilemma.
I've heard that... but I read that it isn't true. Stress is what gives u zits.
Soda gives you zits, try something else.
The rhyme scheme seems to break apart at apparently random intervals. Perhaps intentionally? still, I like the morbidity, it appeals to me.
A good reminder of our mortality, the first line really set the tone, but it confuses my simple mind. Fragments of what skull? still, a well written piece.
Picture me a poem with the paint of a mind,
give me a beauty that will last through time,
rhyme me a reason to forestall all doubt,
dribble me words to sustain me throughout.
Nothing major, it seems to flow better like this
to drop the syllables in l2 to match the last?
I'll ponder it. I admit the beauty is probably the weakest line. But I like its flow.
