I do believe NFG (if you read what they are about) is: 1) not an Internet magazine and 2) a collaborative editorial group. So not only were you turned down by Ms Peabody, but also numerous others that had a look at your work. And by your reaction it lead or leads me to believe that this is the first experience you have ad with submitting literary work for acceptance and had the unfortunate response of a rejection. Worse yet, possibly a one line rejection. As far as the other babble, really, I do not have the time for it. I do not recall what or what I have not said to you, but I am sure it was quite rude, unpleasant and only in the context of what we were discussing at the time. Think what you want about my work and my character. It is quite pleasing. But do not bring Z into this, she is quite a dedicated writer and works hard at establishing herself and building a literary magazine. GW is about in the same league as you when it comes to writing, and I cannot vouch for you friend Ms Peabody. But, do not let one rejection letter dismay you into long infantile rants. Just keep plugging away and maybe one day you to will have a bit of the success that others have worked hard to attain. Until then, good luck to you and your family.
That's shooting for Uranus in a craft built currently for the moon, but a righteous goal none the less even if it's completely unfeasable.
Why drag me into this? better a Y2k street poet than a YspecialK sodomite with a rave whistle/lightsicle and portable Sherlock homes det. kit with real scratch resisting magnifying Watson spectacle and Sherlock pipe and self adjusting hat with Mr. bubbles refillable cartridges and a childproof safety lock for when you want to impress your next lap dog at the local merry go round. Leave the kid alone. How else do you expect him to learn new words? Penis in ass osmosis like the welsh and the Benjaminites?
Do you know what this poeme sounds like to me? It sounds like you thought about "weeping willows", and whenever you couldn't think of a word, or you could think of a word but wanted a better word meaning something similar, you looked in a dictionary or thesaurus to try and find the most sophisticated word you could, and then used that instead. The result is the slantiest pile of pretentious "you cause me to ruminate" verse I have ever seen. What a mess. Like Dante meets bosh in a crack lounge. I would urge anyone reading the words: ruminate, lachrymose, enshrouding, legion, decrepit or opprobrium, to picture the 17 year old SupremeDreamer earnestly leafing through the dictionary in search of said word, with an uncompromisingly learned expression on his bloated face. As far as I can see, if you are barely literate then your only chance to hit the big leagues as writer is to become a ballsy Y2K slam-street poete. Personally, I prefer a fusion of flash-dance with MC Hammer shit.
Alas, this is why it needs work, I shouldn't need a paragraph to explain it.
Between your other, more feminine sounding screenname, (which always, at first glance, has me imagine you as a 29 year old white female) and this talk of pina coladas, I am starting to re-question your purported gender. (I, personally, love pina colada's but am allowed to by society because I am a woman.)
I love the way you've conveyed how oblivious you were to what she was talking about and how you managed to report the loosely constructed thoughts that were drifting through your mind.
Saying "grim shower" right after you were washing your face made me think you were talking about a (bathing) shower, rather than a rainstorm.
Did you mean to include "And so on and so forth" in the nicknames section? Nice job.
come on, a bit of effort.nice imagery, but it could be much better
Well, I thought about specifically saying that she, the narrator, was going to turn down a later trip on a different bus, but thought it'd be anti-climatic. I think, in spite of her planning and her full intention to do the deed, she was ambivalent, and she realized that too much planning had gone into it, it couldn't be as sexy and spontaneous as she'd hoped because of the spacial barriers involved (which neccesitated the extreme planning). So, it was almost better that she had an excuse for it not to happen, rather than have it happen and have the experience not live up to their expectations.
No, sadly, just a strap-on.
Right, I got that, but isn't there something you could call them besides "emerald"? It's too Disney for my taste.
Oh what a profound inditement against the "social prison" of the corporate workplace where the "robots" carry out the orders of their opressors....bla bla bla. How creative....how profound!! In your next work please provide us all with enlightning news about the military industrial complex! Infintile....-6-
Yes, pin the tail on the Donkey has never been better. Until last night when a cake popped out of the stripper already blown out, and me and mine left no tip unshined.
