That was an excellent poem!1 I hope to reach that level someday..I am just a beginner.
Here is a parallel acrostic by my friend...
Treasuring the past I tired to stay in a distant desert, buT
He came and erased the tenebrous days from my memoiR
Only a few momentsâ feelings made us, âusâ from him and I
Marked with uncertainty our love stayed, hushed and virgiN.
Anticipating the recondite dream to bloom as a new epiC,
Smilingly, with open arms, always love waited on our waY
Loving a person with out seeing is not a simple committaL
Optimistically he waited till I revealed that I love him toO
Virtue of prayers must have forced us to divulge our luV
Else, how these feelings didnât get erased in the cruise of lifE
Serendipity is what that kept this relation together, alwayS
Time or space couldnât wreck a love carved deep in hearT
Revolving on the orbits of life, to see an eclipse I did wisH
I could feel emotions growing like a crescent to a full halO
Neglecting all the hurdles of life, love was declared for hiM
Capitulating in his arms, my spirit found complete euphoriA
Yearning to meet this eternal love I wait across seven seaS
Trincy loves thomas and thomas loves Trincy

Oddly enough, my entire career
(I've decided) is to perniciously
rip off
Dark Angel, but do it well.
Obviously not as well as him,
but well enough for someone
Of my pornographic stature
to achieve a nice pile of wealth.
He actually, gave me the idea
For this poem, well not totally
but he has this thing for omelettes
And jesus, that I find
hilarious, and I thought
Fuck it, why not
A jesus Omelette.
To tell you the truth.

Definetely a poem! This spoke in volumes to me about the inherit darkness that sexuality calls forward in us all. I found it uplifting, human.

yes, yarn is plausible and all, just that it still leaves that beat long while the brain has to process it.
And this is not the kind of place you go to have things "overlooked". No, not that kind of place at all.

By YARN, I mean to cover. (Yarns my soul...Covers or knits my soul...) That part makes sense though!
Thanks anyway!!

(parallel acrostic) Hey! not bad at all.
couple gotchas in there "A Ordeal" s/b "An Ordeal" so you'll likely have to play with that again.
and "Yarns" is a sticking point.
But still - good and interesting work.

The poem relates math to life using the unstated, but hopefully understood, notion that people hold certain truths to be inalienable, much as other people hold math theorems, granted on less evidence. The âoaf, as you unjustly call him, needed a very simple math example, else he would have doubts. Complex math can be just as convincing, but not to him. He did not prove his âtheoremâ but took it on abundance of evidence because thatâs the way his mind works.
I did not mean that the uncertainty principle implies there is no logic, only that it is the logic of probability. Gamblers and God may have similar propensities toward bending the odds by using slogans and hope and the notion that correct thinking affects the outcome. It gets back to the idea of being created in Godâs image. Maybe God works partly by nudging the outcome a tiny amount here and there, causing great change in strictly probabilistic outcome â chaos as it is â so tiny we could never catch Him at it.

In what way does this poeme relate maths to life? By being mathematically inept? Or by having an oaf make an easily provable conjecture, then writing it on his tombstone and challenging passing dweebs to disprove it?
Anyway, I'm not saying you should hold to rigorous mathematical standards. I don't see how that makes any sense in the context of a poeme. I was pointing out that your argument (c.f. "the mathematics had to be simple in order to be beyond doubt") was a silly one. There is a great deal of interesting, not-so-simple mathematics that is beyond doubt. Of course you could argue that the protagonist was an utter oaf, and therefore incapable of proving his conjecture. But then what? Does this poeme become a bold, sweeping statement about how oaves wander through life saying obvious things? You ought to be commended for your insight! Though in my experience, oaves mostly wander through life writing wallyish poetry about things they know very little about, and smelling of dung. Mostly.
"And just in case youâre about to say that without logic, there is no math, let me add that much of the universe is running on chance to the chagrin of Einstein and others, and maybe the mind that made it that way likes the emotional tug of trying to outwit probability"
I wasn't about to say "without logic there is no math", because any such statement would almost certainly be followed by an enormous amount of guff, no matter what anyone said about it. But I certainly would at least like to know what you mean by your implication that the uncertainty principle implies there is no logic. In answering, please say what you mean by "logic", "no", and "the emotional tug of trying to outwit probability."
