The abovementioned are also the gayest of the philosophers, who, as a class, are exceedingly gay. Except Wittgenstein, as I believe I've mentioned elsewhere.
Re: a comment on Blinking by zodiac 23-Apr-04/3:56 AM
The only times I have ever been taken with the idea very strongly are every time I've ridden on the London Underground. No other underground does it, just the London one. However, if I happen to be standing next to a shallow duck-pond somewhere, I'll almost always be tempted to step in it. The image of myself standing knee-deep in scummy water, perhaps surrounded by ducks, perhaps not, and not really doing anything, just standing - well, it's incredibly hard for me to resist. I suppose that's kind of the same thing.

This reminds me of another recent post about the child of death:

The Meta-Ku to End All Meta-Kus.

The bowl has caught all
Save a few dangling dribbles:
Leave them to form crust.

My 'data collection technique' was to run a poem details search of the term 'haiku', as any respectable meta-ku would include 'haiku' in the text. That is, if 'respectable meta-ku' weren't a contradiction in terms on the scale of, oh say, 'an enormous violetsuede-induced erection.'
Re: a comment on horus8 accepts black cock for cash by King Abdullah II 22-Apr-04/8:08 AM
...But the greatest of these is Stealth Impregnation.

Li'l Dora
Didn't believe us; down by the creek
She found him - O! I daren't speak
Of the horror!

He stabbéd
The overseer with sawed-off spoon,
And when exposed to the light of the moon
Goes rabid.

A darkie;
Says things like 'Right on' and 'brother',
Robs the henhouse and engages in other
Malarky.
Re: The Negro by Everyone 22-Apr-04/7:44 AM
A dullard;
Widely thought to have an enormous knob,
Picks his teeth with a dried corncob:
He's coloured.

Yes, but HolySpirit is the temple of Jesus. Or the costume, rather.

POWERS ATTRIBUTED TO HOLYSPIRIT JESUS BUT NOT TO REGULAR JESUS:

1) Stealthe Impregnation (Lk 1:35, Mt 1:15)
2) Animorphism (Mt 3:16, Mk 1:10)
3) Wilderness Guide (Mt 4:1, Mk 1:12)
4) Ventriloquism (Mt 10:20)
5) Wind-manipulation and Pyrokinesis, Tongue-speaking (Acts 2)
6) +5 Boldness (Act 4:31)
7) Hallucination

Hey, thanks for listening.
Re: a comment on In Gold Leaf by bearhead 22-Apr-04/6:32 AM
The question: whether Jesus, a 14th level cleric with (at the very least) an Amulet of +20 Pain Endurance, really died or just pretended to die.
The answer: No. It was pretend. Or, at any rate, it was given that he could Auto-Revivify within 31 hours, so the entire act was more like, say, holding one's breath for an incredibly long time than dying.
Re: Quintus: Lesson 1 by richa 22-Apr-04/6:22 AM
Some of the punctuation is a little awry. For what it's worth:

His mind withdraws, like the tongue,
too far back to swallow
the water of a lake, green as moss.

'What colour would you prefer,
you must drink' says the tutor.

'make it the pale blue I know as water.'

'but pale blue is the sky;

green is the eye of the sycamore
that looks down on your lake.

Drink, for you can see the fishes.'

Otherwise, ace.

- "Here is a list of people gayer than me: Simon LeBon, Paul Simon, Carly Simon, all the actors in the film Simon Birch, you." - Simon Cowell

He's only pretend-dead.

Haikus are easy.
A first-class dunce could write one
About writing one.

I write haikus be-
Cause they are easy, only

Can we all agree the Meta-Ku is tapped out? Yes, we can.
Re: a comment on Thaw by <~> 21-Apr-04/2:50 PM
Besides, I find that I haven't rudely criticized anyone's spelling (besides holdstill's too/to) since my last pointless argument with Joe-joe (who totally asked for it.)
Re: a comment on Thaw by <~> 21-Apr-04/2:43 PM
It would remove too much of the responsibility from their part, anyway.
