I like the intensity to this piece - it's darkness. I made me want to keep reading until the end.

I'm afraid I have to agree with the others - a tale with no expression... A shrink is an amazing use of money and really can help with your issues.

any suggestions for the last line? Your husband and Murphy are a cosmic pain in the ass this week.....

I liked the just on the edge of dark, old romantic feel of this.
that was great! thoroughly enjoyable.. I dub thee with a 9

A very haunting quality. I thought the last line should have just a bit more - but that's just me. Excellent read otherwise.

my thanks.

the middle - well, each of us do things that feed our soul - things that make us feel complete - whole.

we write - my husband hunts.

Believe what you will - it's your right. And since I'm not going to through with meaningless banter on whose right and whose wrong, I agree to disagree with you on all points. As far as your comment on being a child molester - be very careful on this point - I am a survivor of child abuse - it is something I live with every day - every moment of my life and any other survivor will be as offended as I with your offensive remarks. Conversation over.

the bashing of religion on this site just amazes me... first of all - it is not God who causes children to be molested, young people to die or any other evil that goes on in this world - man allows his faith to be so weak that evil seeps in and takes control. You wonder where God was - He was holding your ungrateful, weak, faithless ass up, not allowing evil to take that final step of control.

I think this is beautiful - but, some of the line splits through me a little and I had to read them a few times - tighten it a bit and it will be perfect. I give you a 9 - 10 when it's revamped. Send this out - it's worthy....

Very moving - excellent metaphors. A truly touching poem - 10

I liked this - the possibility that your child was destined to be yours. Sometimes it's hard to remember that in the midst of math homework that they just don't understand (and, in their opinion, never will). Hold onto that beauty - as they grow, somedays it's all you've got...
on Mirror to Mirror by Roisin 13 Nov 2003, 8:48 AM
God! This was excellent - I could relate to everything you've listed here. The tone is wonderful - the long suffering - yet not willing to choose the same course - to not shed more tears on a situation that has grown pointless and numb. Wonderful - I'm keeping a copy of this one... I give you a 9.
Do you kiss your mother - your grandmother - or (lord protect us - from your procreation) your children with that mouth?
on Leaving in the Morning by leviathan 8 Nov 2003, 6:06 AM
an unborn child talking to its mother before some fatalistic decision? Intriguing - and I like the voice.
on The Burial by Mona Lisa 8 Nov 2003, 6:04 AM
I loved the dark melodrama of this piece. I give you a 9...
on my stuff is like stuff by skaskowski 4 Nov 2003, 2:28 PM
too much reminding me of "my body's like whoa". Hip hop it's not but - interesting. the last line didn't work for me - you've already mentioned the spit dripping poison and all I could see was pussing eyes...nope, not a pretty site.
on Love by EouSou 30 Oct 2003, 11:12 AM
This was very sweet - Naive, but sweet. Unless you've lived through a 4 year old whom you have to chase through a store - you've no idea - and the sweet sentimentality doesn't last...

As for Doylum's comments - if you're only lasting 2 min 12 sec. or bangin someone who does - they've drugs for that now - you may want to check into it...
on Teaching Beetles To Swim by Bobjim 28 Oct 2003, 8:04 AM
I think this title is great...
